Brianna Heupel (“Ms.Bri”) is one of the founders and teachers of Casa dei Girasoli. Brianna is a certified Montessori Primary educator with the Center for Guided Montessori Studies Primary program. She is a Lowcountry native and enjoys working in the community she grew up in. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Anthropology from the College of Charleston and an Early Childhood Montessori Certification from the International Montessori Council.
The idea of “follow the child” aligned with her beliefs that every child is unique and should be seen for their strengths.
After earning her bachelors degree, she applied as an Assistant Teacher in a Montessori school. She fell in love with the method immediately and was quickly asked to take over as a Lead Teacher. She is passionate about bringing Montessori education to this community. She loves that the power of education lies within each student in the classroom community. When she is not teaching, she is often going on adventures in the mountains, forests, and in the ocean.
